You’ve probably read enough about legal marketing with social networks to rattle of the names of the most popular sites: Facebook, Twitter, Google+, YouTube. But what about sites that aren’t well-known, but are gaining a steady following in niche markets? If none of your competition knows about these forms of media, wouldn’t you want to be the first one there?

More and more social media applications are being tailored to work solely on mobile devices. These include camera and image sharing software, but also the ability to record and upload voice and video—using nothing more than a smartphone.

Here are just a few ways you could reach your customers using photo and video sharing:

  • Pictures. Since nearly all new phones come with cameras built-in, amateur photography is thriving—and since a picture is worth a thousand words, people who use sites such as Instagram and Flickr to share photos are saying a lot with minimal effort.
  • Video. YouTube is the most popular video-sharing site on the web, but hosts such as Vimeo are not far behind—plus, the latter offers video editing and enhancing software to make your videos look polished.
  • Podcasts. Some of your readers may want to hear your updates rather than read them. Recording a podcast will take some time and planning on your part, but the audio track can be recorded, edited, and uploaded right from your phone.
