There are plenty of companies that help businesses obtain unique 800 numbers to distribute on individual lawyer advertising methods. By placing a unique number on your Yellow Pages ad, your website, and your newsletter, you can determine where the largest volume of calls comes from.

Tracking Your Website URLs

One of the cool things about Web addresses is that you can have dozens of individual URLs that all lead to one single website. I personally own over 250 URLs but only operate a handful of actual unique websites. I use the specialized URLs to link to a unique "landing page" on the website so I know which Web addresses are working to drive traffic.

Another benefit to multiple Web addresses is that you can make their text say what you want to focus your lawyer advertising on. If you're a personal injury attorney you probably deal with many types of accidents. It's great to have a URL that says you're each type of lawyer, like www.vamedmal.com and www.benglasslaw.com.          

Tracking with Web Forms

If you're running multiple websites and URLs, you're going to need to have a way of identifying which Web form a client's contact information came from. Your database should be able to not only show that a client contact came from a website form, but also which website form it was.

When in Doubt, Just Ask

When doing initial client consultations, don't forget to ask them how they found out about you. You may find that they got your name from your amazing newsletter they got a copy of at their dentist's office (who you just happen to be friends with). This also gives you an opportunity to see which of your clients are spreading your good name through word of mouth.
