When we talk about automated attorney marketing and triggered emails, we often say that the best thing about them is that you can set them and forget them. But that’s not altogether true. For maximum effectiveness, you have to regularly review your emails and make sure they are up-to-date and effective. Here are four things to keep in mind:
- Is the information accurate? Things change—make sure your emails do, too. Have you added a partner? Changed your location or phone number? Added or subtracted services? Accuracy is of the utmost importance in these emails, so be sure to get it right.
- Has the email gotten a good response? Part of the beauty of automated emails and triggered marketing is that you can measure its success. If very few people have responded to a certain email, review it and ask yourself if the problem lies within. Don’t continue to send out an email that isn’t performing. Try something new—it can’t hurt.
- Do you have new offers to add? Are your new marketing efforts and calls to action reflected in your email? If they aren’t you are missing out on easy opportunities. For instance, if you write a new report, make sure it gets mentioned in your triggered emails.
- It never hurts to check and double-check for mistakes and typos! We can’t stress this enough: read over your emails for any issues, from grammar mistakes to poor formatting to slap-your-forehead typos. Have someone else proofread so that you have a pair of fresh eyes read the content.
