That way is by the phone number the potential client uses to contact your office.

If, as part of our complex legal marketing plan, you maintain multiple websites and other types of marketing materials then you should consider putting a unique phone number on each of them. That way you can easily track how a client found you by the phone number the potential client first used when calling your office.

Of course, you need to be careful when using this method of determining return on your marketing investment. For example, does an existing client continue to call your office based on a website number because he or she simply hits redial on the phone? Did the client actually get your number from a friend instead of directly from the marketing materials?
